A Family Wedding

About two weeks ago, my husband and I went to his cousin’s wedding, and the reception was held at a gorgeous country club on Long Island. I wanted to look the part, so I found my dress first, and then built my outfit around that.

My dress is the Gia dress from Pin Up Girl Clothing. It’s such a decadent and sexy dress, I had to have it! With a 1930s look, I decided to build my whole look around it. I wanted to go for a 1930s Art Deco vamp. It has a good amount of stretch but also is sturdy enough to hold and shape everything. I felt like a goddess for sure!

My clutch and earrings are gloriously glamorous – both from Pink Collar Life’s shop. Full disclosure though: if you visit their shop, you will want to buy everything they have! I have purchased about five separate occasions, and I have everything from clutches, hair barrettes, combs, headbands, jewelry, turbans and much more from them. All of their products are high quality and fabulous! For the wedding, I bought their Stardust clutch and Art Deco Fan earrings, shown below.

Aren’t they stunning?! I received so many compliments on them that I honestly couldn’t keep track. They will be coming to Viva with me in a few weeks as well!

What makeup did I wear, you say? Well, I wore Velour Lashes mink falsies in Winging It, shown below. I wore several ColourPop shadows, and I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light contour kit as well as NARS blush in Orgasm. My brows are using Brow Definer in Dark Brown from Anastasia of Beverly Hills. My lippie is OCC Lip Tar in Black Dahlia.

I loved my look for the night! I achieved curl in my hair via a wet set using Rockin’ Rollers (the same exact thing using a different name can be found in CVS) and Lottabody. I did not get to brush out as much as I wanted because after just having major wrist surgery, my wrist was not up to the task!

During the reception, a photographer was on standby taking pictures of guests and putting them into frames. Of course I dragged my husband to take a snap, and well…

He’s Official!

I know I have put blogging on the back burner lately, but I have a valid excuse – the LEOW (law enforcement officer wife) life has begun! His official journey started at his graduation on 29 December, at Madison Square Garden. There were 880 graduates out of the 974 that initially started the academy. It was a long, hard road, but one that was well worth it to see my husband succeed at his lifelong dream. Of course I took tons of pictures!

As most of you know, Detectives Ramos and Liu were executed on Saturday, December 20th – my birthday 😢 As a touching and poignant tribute to these fallen officers, they saluted them on the big screen above them rather than the traditional throwing of the white gloves.

DeBlasio spoke of course, but not without heckling and jeering. These best was when he said, “…you will face all kinds of problems, problems you did not create…” To which one person shouted back, “NO, YOU DID!” Everyone laughed and clapped. Well done, dude 😉

After the graduation, we met for a photo-op with the new PO in Penn Station. Decked out in his dress blues, we all took pictures.

Veronica Vintage’s 1 Year Anniversary & Giveaway!

I can’t believe it has been a year since I came back from my trip to Las Vegas this time last year with my intense love of all things vintage and rockabilly blazing and I started this blog. It has been a crazy year, but this blog has grown exponentially and blown up over the past few months especially. I could not have gotten this far without all of you!

Sometimes it may be hard for me to write due to my pain levels, school, or otherwise, but I still make the effort because this is a passion of mine, and a passion of my readers as well. I always aim to have more informational writing content rather than the frilly picture-laden outfit posts that most have – that way my readers can learn and embrace the look themselves. I love to share my knowledge and views with others, and I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as I have enjoyed writing. I intend to keep this blog going for a long time, and with your help we can make this one of the best vintage blogs out there.

I want to say thank you to my readers and celebrate my blog’s birthday, so I will be having a giveaway!
